Every singer dreams of the day they will grace the stage of the Met to endless applause and cheers of ‘Brava!’ for their small mostly speaking role…… Err, what? Yes, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa stopped the show with her cameo as Duchess Krakentorp at the Met’s performance of La Fille du Regiment. Co-starring with Dame Te Kanawa are Diana Damrau and Juan Diego Florez, reprising the role following his 2008 premiere in this production.
