Calling all vegetarians!

San Antonio will host the world premiere of a contemporary, three -act opera called A Brief History of Root Vegetables. Can you imagine the costumes for this one? I am having flashbacks to a fourth grade play involving a similar theme. The opera was written by David Heuser, a professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Performances are March 5 at 7:30pm and March 7 at 3:00pm.

Hey, happened to come across your site – I’m the composer of the Root Veggies opera. We had a great opening (sold out) with lots of laughs. Of course, the title is a joke, and the opera has virtually nothing to do with root vegetables (there’s a synopsis at my web site for those who are interested). In fact, I almost named it “Martin Van Buren: Presidental Ninja.”
