Yes, Cheeseball May Be My Favorite Composer Too

by Christie Connolley

The Telegraph recently published an article about a recent survey of UK music lovers that revealed that they love classical music, but don’t ask them to be more specific than that.

Cheeseballs“The survey, which is published in the September edition of the magazine, found a small number of people (4 per cent) wrongly identified bocconcini – the small Italian cheese balls – as a composer. Sixty-eight per cent did not know that Tchaikovsky wrote the 1812 Overture.

The Welsh were more likely to own a Vivaldi or a Wagner, with 72 per cent owning at least one classical CD compared with the British average of 59 per cent. The poll also revealed that 41 per cent of people did not own a single classical CD (rising to 59 per cent of under-35s) and 80 per cent owned fewer than five.

Yet despite the lack of knowledge, feelings towards classical music remained positive. Only 16 per cent said they disliked classical music.”

But in their defense, bocconcini is pretty great… if there was a composition involved I am sure it would be my favorite too!
