A Pill for TWO in this “Bitter Little Opera”

by Erica Papillion-Posey

Challenor and Dwyer in "Wretched Bliss"

Well….no “wedded bliss” in this pint size production.

This one act, two scene table opera pulls no punches in its approach. With music and libretto by Stephen Crowe, Wretched Bliss is the noir comedic tale of love gone awry–quickly. An all too familiar narrative of love’s woe and the bitter, relentless dialogue that often ensues at the crossroads of a relationship.

If you have an hour to spare and you’re in the London area, Wretched Bliss will be playing at The King’s Head Theatre in Islington, January 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25, 2011.
