I think I would need to powder my face after seeing this production.

Thomas Adés’s production of Powder Your Face is a ‘in-your-face’ display of everthing sexual and scandalous. This shocker would make even the Dutchess of Argyll (the work’s muse) blush, if for nothing else, out of sheer embarassment, since it is based on her unseemly exploits.

But, MusicOMH’s Simon Thomas say’s it works. Read on for the sordid details from this production of ill-repute that rivals anything out of today’s Hollywood handbook…. http://www.musicomh.com/opera/linbury-powder_0410.htm
