Be Heard for Opera Advocacy Day!
(via OPERA America)
TODAY, May 6, 2015, is the inaugural Opera Advocacy Day. More than 60 individuals from the field, including opera company administrative and artistic staff, board members and artists, will meet in Washington, D.C. and visit their congressional offices, urging lawmakers to support a range of policies and legislation that impact the fields of opera and the performing arts.
OPERA America represents the opera field daily in front of Congress, the White House and federal agencies. Opera Advocacy Day is an opportunity for the opera field to use the strength of our cumulative voice to make a difference in federal policy.

You do not have to be in D.C. to participate in Opera Advocacy Day. Visit the Opera Advocacy Day campaign page, where you can personalize the pre-written letter with information about your organization and community.
Please forward this post to friends and colleagues and encourage everyone who loves opera to tell Congress about how the arts have a positive impact on lives and communities.
