Interview with Leontyne Price

Interview with Leontyne Price

lpcoverby Melissa Wimbish

If you have never seen this interview with Leontyne Price you really should take a few minutes to change that. In this interview, she discusses her earliest musical memories, her experience with her teacher at Juilliard, her repertoire preferences, the importance of recognizing your audience, and many other wonderful tidbits of advice for musicians, singers especially. A remarkable section of the interview is her discussion of the “affair” between singer and audience and how there is no relationship like it in the entire world.
