Joy to the Opera World!

by Melissa Wimbish

That ray of light? No, it's not the sun -- it's opera beeeaatch!

We’re still recovering from our massive opera hangovers after our smashing First Annual Operagasm Awards celebration and National Opera Week festivities, but here we are again kicking off the next month of fun! The party never stops.

For the next few weeks of November and as we enter the exciting holiday season, we’d like to focus on “Joy to the Opera World!” What brings you joy? How does opera provide joy to the masses (or how could it better provide joy)? Who are some of the most joyful opera icons? As always, we’ll be hearing from some fabulous guest contributors including the lovely soprano Emily Sanchez and Artistic Director of Repertory Opera Theatre of Washington, Michael Rainbow. Look forward to a fabulous review of a famousĀ Don Giovanni recording (not telling which one!) from up-and-coming conductor Blair Skinner later this month as well as some exclusive reviews of live performances including Peabody Conservatory’s The Rake’s Progress.

This is all in addition to the news, fashion, reviews and other fun tidbits we bring you every day! Stay joyful this month and keep Operagasm on your list of smile providers. xo
