Opera Colorado Young Artists Welcome
Denver, CO — (September 15, 2014) Opera Colorado announces the Young Artists Welcome Recital & Reception at The Studio Loft in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House on Sunday, October 19 from 2PM to 3:30PM.
Join Opera Colorado to welcome the 2014-2015 Young Artists. This event features an intimate recital followed by a reception with refreshments, light nibbles and a cash bar. Hear the Young Artists sing a program of opera favorites and have the opportunity to meet them following the performance.
Opera Colorado’s Young Artists are emerging professional opera singers taking steps to transition from students to performing artists. Young Artists play a vital role as the voice and face of Opera Colorado in the community. They perform throughout the season in school and community centers across the State.
This event sets the stage for the season ahead, “It’s a fun, informal event, but so much more under the surface,” explains Program Director Cherity Koepke. “The Young Artist Welcome is really the official debut for the Young Artists. It’s their first opportunity to perform for the public and it’s our first opportunity, as a company, to showcase their incredible talents. Having the public there to welcome them to Colorado and cheer them on sets the stage for the next seven-months and creates a sense of community.”
This season’s Young Artists are Soprano Leah Bobby, Mezzo-Soprano Katherine Sanford, Tenor Brett Sprague, Baritone Andrew Paulson, Bass-Baritone Leo Rado. Visit http://operacolorado.org/
