O’s Book Club!

O’s Book Club!

by Melissa Wimbish

Pretty sure if this book was made into an opera, the Windup Girl would be sung by a soprano. She’s got all of the leading soprano/heroine qualities: mysterious and unavailable.

Paolo Bacigalupi’s The Windup Girl is the perfect science fiction novel for people that don’t like science fiction. And this book will seem a lot less like fiction when you consider what we have learned about climate change on our very own planet slash witnessed in this lifetime. There is enough DRAMA in this book to keep you satiated so don’t let the nerdiness fool you.

Listen to the NPR blurb and give it a read!
