O’s Book Club!

O’s Book Club!

Great Expectations = PAINFULLY EASY TO MAKE INTO AN OPERA (for someone besides me I mean)

by Melissa Wimbish

We’re getting into the thick of summer which means there is actually time to read books! So… why Dickens?

He wasn’t on my radar as a youth and I felt a little guilty about that. After having spent some quality time with his metaphors, I can’t help wondering why the hell Great Expectations isn’t an opera. (I’m looking at you composers, but I feel like you’re looking the other way on purpose…)

Also, is this real?:

Do something about this, universe! Do something! And read Great Expectations because it is simply one of the best ways you can improve your upbringing.
