Santa Fe Opera adds showing of ‘La Donna del Lago’
(via The New Mexican) - Santa Fe Opera General Director Charles MacKay said Tuesday that an additional performance of Rossini’s La Donna del Lago has been added on Monday, Aug. 19 at 8 p.m..
“There has been such a demand for tickets and all six performances were sold out before opening night,” he reported. “I am pleased that we are able to offer more of our patrons a chance to hear this rarely performed Rossini opera with such an outstanding cast.”
Headed by Joyce DiDonato in the title role, the cast also includes Marianna Pizzolata, Lawrence Brownlee, Rene Barbera and Wayne Tiggis. The conductor is Stephen Lord. This marks the first time in the opera company’s 57-year history that an extra performance has been added.
The regular patron amenities will be offered including shuttles from Santa Fe and Albuquerque, preview buffet beginning at 5:30 p.m., opera talks at 6 and 7 p.m. in Stieren Hall, Opera Shop and food and beverage service.
