Social Media and the Opera World

Social Media and the Opera World

by Melissa Wimbish

What is the last memory you have of life before Facebook? How many selfies have you taken in the past 5 years? What is your Twitter account going to look like a decade from now if it still exists? Is social media screwing up our society more than informing it? Are we better off with it or without it? Are we in control?

This month at Operagasm, let’s think harder and longer on that last question especially as it pertains to opera and classical music. In addition to the news, reviews, interviews, and other fun extras we share, tweet, and pin to you, we also hope to spark an informative conversation that will teach us how to use social media for good and not for evil. Kind of like light and dark magic…

Stay tuned to Operagasm or we will de-friend you! (jk … lol … syl … okfrbfnlylasaobxo)
