Great singing leads to my vocabulary’s downfall and phrases such as, “Bitch, sing!” “Werk.” “Damn, Gina.” and so on. When I can’t think of the words to effectively communicate my awe, I just point aggressively and repeatedly in the general direction of the sound’s origin.
This is one of those moments. An effing athletic feat. I’m preparing this piece for an upcoming concert and this is my go-to recording. You don’t have to love the style to appreciate the sheer concentration and physical strength this piece requires from singer, conductor and orchestra.
